Private School Based Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
Location: SSKids Academy, Naples, FL
Position Type: Full-Time (M-F 7:30-3:30) | [12-month schedule]
Reports To: School Administrator
Job Summary:
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will serve as a key member of the multidisciplinary team, supporting students with behavioral, developmental, and learning needs within a private school setting. The BCBA is responsible for conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and overseeing behavior intervention plans (BIPs), training school staff, and ensuring that all applied behavior analysis (ABA) interventions are implemented ethically and effectively to promote student success in the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop individualized Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) in collaboration with IEP teams.
- Monitor, review, and revise BIPs regularly based on data and student progress.
- Provide direct and consultative ABA services for students across classroom settings.
- Train and support teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers in behavior management strategies and data collection.
- Analyze student data to inform decision-making and instructional practices.
- Collaborate with teachers and related service staff to ensure integration of behavior goals with academic and social-emotional learning.
- Participate in IEP meetings, team conferences, and professional development activities.
- Ensure interventions are implemented in accordance with BACB ethical guidelines and relevant educational laws and standards.
- Provide crisis support and behavior consultation as needed.
- Supervise RBTs
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
- Current BCBA certification in good standing (Board Certified Behavior Analyst).
- Experience working with children and adolescents in school-based or educational settings.
- Strong knowledge of FBA/BIP processes, ABA principles, data collection, and behavior management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
- Ability to train and coach staff with a supportive, solutions-focused approach.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, emotional/behavioral disorders, and/or intellectual disabilities.
- Prior experience in a private or special education school environment.
- Familiarity with IEP documentation and school-based service delivery models.
Work Environment:
- School-based setting; travel between classrooms.
- May require lifting, physical redirection, or other physical activity in support of students in crisis.
