About Job

Overview

We are actively seeking a Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Professional to join our team in supporting individuals with severe mental illness who are experiencing homelessness.

This is a high-impact, field-based role (85% in the field) that requires compassion, resilience, and a strong commitment to client-centered care.

You will play a critical role in providing substance abuse services, rehabilitation support, crisis intervention, and family education.

Candidates must be prepared to work independently in the field while also collaborating closely with a focused multidisciplinary team.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Serve as part of each client’s treatment team
  • Conduct comprehensive, client-centered assessments
  • Deliver individual, group, and family-based substance abuse services in both office and community settings
  • Monitor and document client progress in accordance with agency protocols
  • Consult and coordinate care with community partners and family members
  • Participate in daily team meetings and treatment planning reviews
  • Provide crisis intervention and adapt treatment plans as needed based on client behavior and needs


Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences or at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) required
  • Familiarity with multiple support systems for individuals with substance use disorders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with vulnerable populations
  • Effective communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team structure
  • Valid driver’s license required


Working Conditions

  • Frequent travel required (local travel only - milage reimbursement provided)
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
  • Manual dexterity and crisis response capabilities required
  • May be required to report during emergencies (including inclement weather)
