Overview
We are actively seeking a Drug & Alcohol (D&A) Professional to join our team in supporting individuals with severe mental illness who are experiencing homelessness.
This is a high-impact, field-based role (85% in the field) that requires compassion, resilience, and a strong commitment to client-centered care.
You will play a critical role in providing substance abuse services, rehabilitation support, crisis intervention, and family education.
Candidates must be prepared to work independently in the field while also collaborating closely with a focused multidisciplinary team.
Essential Responsibilities
- Serve as part of each client’s treatment team
- Conduct comprehensive, client-centered assessments
- Deliver individual, group, and family-based substance abuse services in both office and community settings
- Monitor and document client progress in accordance with agency protocols
- Consult and coordinate care with community partners and family members
- Participate in daily team meetings and treatment planning reviews
- Provide crisis intervention and adapt treatment plans as needed based on client behavior and needs
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Behavioral Sciences or at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Certified Addiction Counselor (CAC) required
- Familiarity with multiple support systems for individuals with substance use disorders
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with vulnerable populations
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and within a team structure
- Valid driver’s license required
Working Conditions
- Frequent travel required (local travel only - milage reimbursement provided)
- Occasional light lifting (up to 25 lbs)
- Manual dexterity and crisis response capabilities required
- May be required to report during emergencies (including inclement weather)
