- Interviewing patients and developing the psychological history
- Assessing the therapeutic needs of the patient and family
- Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups
- Developing appropriate treatment objectives
- Preparing monthly treatment summaries
- Provide counseling sessions for families, individuals, and groups
- Act as the patients' and families' primary contact during the patient's stay at the facility
- Serve as patient advocate with the treatment team
- Laisse with outside agencies and individuals to develop and coordinate discharge planning with the treatment team and the patient’s family
