Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to clients, utilizing various therapeutic techniques and approaches. This role involves working with individuals facing a range of challenges, including PTSD, and may incorporate specialized therapies such as dance therapy. The counselor will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and delivering both individual and group counseling sessions in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments of clients to determine their mental health needs and develop appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions tailored to the specific needs of clients.
- Implement therapeutic techniques, including Christian counseling and dance therapy, to promote healing and personal growth.
- Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary based on ongoing evaluations.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with ICD-9 coding standards.
- Engage in data collection and research activities to contribute to program development and improvement.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Stay informed about advancements in psychopharmacology to provide informed recommendations when necessary.
Skills
- Strong background in inpatient care and patient-centered approaches.
- Proficiency in individual group counseling techniques.
- Experience or training in PTSD care methodologies.
- Knowledge of Christian counseling principles is a plus.
- Familiarity with dance therapy as a therapeutic modality is desirable.
- Ability to conduct research and apply findings to enhance counseling practices.
- Competence in data collection methods relevant to mental health assessments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with clients and colleagues.
