Summary of Position:
The School-Based Therapist/Social Worker coordinates and provides individual and group therapy in a school-based behavioral health program for high-risk children within the school district. This role involves collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and school administrators to identify and address the needs of students, ensuring that each child has access to resources that facilitate their success.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
  • Conducting assessments
  • Providing individual and group therapy
  • Implementing intervention strategies tailored to individual and group needs.
The position also involves creating and facilitating workshops and groups that empower students and enhance their coping skills. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of child development, effective communication skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with students and families.
Availability: Flexible schedule up to 40 hours per week; school based hours
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work or a related field and with a current license in Pennsylvania as a Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • Valid PA state licensure as a social worker (LPC, LCSW, LSW, or equivalent) or in process of obtaining
  • Must have a minimum of 1 year of paid experience working with children.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or community setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and mental health.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for all students.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Bi-Lingual/Spanish Speaking is a plus.
  • Reliable Transportation, valid driver's license, and current automobile insurance coverage required.
