Grace Christian School is hiring a Part-Time Admissions Counselor to help lead our enrollment and marketing efforts in a way that reflects our mission of Faith, Family, and Excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who loves building relationships, has strong communication skills, and wants to promote the value of Lutheran Christian education. The Admissions Counselor will connect with prospective families, lead tours, support events, and help tell our school’s story through social media and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for prospective families
  • Organize campus tours and open houses
  • Oversee admissions tracking and re-enrollment processes
  • Support school marketing efforts (social media, Canva, web updates, flyers)
  • Build partnerships with local preschools, churches, and community groups

FULL JOB DESCRIPTION:

PURPOSE OF POSITION: The purpose of the Admissions Counselor position is twofold: to lead Grace Christian School’s admissions and enrollment efforts and to support marketing and community engagement strategies that reflect our Christ-centered mission.

This role is vital in connecting with prospective families, guiding them through the enrollment process, and sharing the value of Christian education at Grace. The Admissions Counselor will also help promote the school’s unique program offerings, curriculum, and values through digital and community channels.

In leading the school's admissions/enrollment, the Admissions Counselor will :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective families.
  • Organize and conduct campus tours and admissions meetings.
  • Manage the admissions database and track application status.
  • Oversee re-enrollment efforts in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Coordinate and attend recruitment events, including open houses and community outreach.

In supporting the marketing, the Admission Counselor will:

  • Design and coordinate promotional materials and communications.
  • Manage and contribute to social media accounts with timely, engaging content.
  • Collaborate with staff to maintain the school website and digital presence.
  • Capture and share stories, photos, and events that reflect the school’s mission.
  • Build relationships within the Escondido community to promote the school and foster goodwill.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Embraces and promotes the mission of Grace Christian School: Faith, Family, and Excellence.
  • Understands and is committed to Lutheran Christian education.
  • Demonstrates a heart for ministry and a passion for sharing Christian education with families.
  • Maintains accurate records and follows up with inquiries and applications promptly.
  • Builds positive working relationships with staff, current families, prospective families, and the greater community.
  • Conduct regular visits to local preschools, churches, and youth organizations/events.
  • Attends and supports school events, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by the Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • A committed Christian who affirms the teachings of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.
  • Active participation in a local Christian church (LCMS preferred).
  • A degree in a relevant field (such as Marketing, Communications, or Education) is preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
  • Experience in education, admissions, customer service, and marketing preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Escondido community and surrounding areas is highly desired.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with social media, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, Adobe, and basic website content updates.
  • Must exhibit professionalism, confidentiality, and a team-oriented spirit.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Frequent walking and prolonged standing.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of supplies (up to 30 lbs.).
  • Potential bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
  • Exposure to outdoor environments during school events.
  • Frequent verbal and visual communication is required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week

Schedule:

  • Evenings as needed
