Description:
We are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our dynamic Psychiatry team.
The position involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care for adult inpatients in a dedicated behavioral health unit.
Responsibilities include performing initial psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing mental health conditions, and managing treatment plans.
Prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications in coordination with the care team is essential.
The psychiatrist will collaborate daily with a fully staffed multidisciplinary team, including advanced practice providers, registered nurses, social workers, case managers, and other specialists.
Participation in daily clinical rounds and contributions to patient-centered care discussions are expected.
Maintaining accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record system is required.
The role involves a consistent Monday to Friday schedule, with built-in flexibility based on provider needs.
Sharing in weekend call coverage on a rotating schedule of one weekend on-call every four weeks is necessary.
There is also the option to pick up additional shifts for extra compensation if desired.
Engagement in teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, and fellows is encouraged in an academic environment.
Opportunities to pursue additional interests such as research, outpatient care, or leadership roles are available based on provider goals and departmental needs.
Physicians must be board certified in their specialty or board eligible and will become board certified within two years of becoming board eligible.
Candidates with lapsed Board Certification needing to obtain it again will not be accepted.
Locums candidates are not accepted.
