Position Overview:

We are seeking a licensed and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to provide patient-centered behavioral health services within an outpatient, collaborative care setting. This role plays a key part in supporting our mission to integrate mental health and medical care for underserved communities, including LGBTQ+ individuals and those living with chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments for new and established patients.
• Diagnose mental health disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in accordance with evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with primary care providers, therapists, and care coordinators to ensure integrated treatment.
• Provide ongoing medication management and crisis intervention as needed.
• Maintain detailed and accurate electronic health records (EHR).
• Educate patients and families about diagnosis, treatment options, and wellness strategies.
• Participate in case reviews, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings.

Qualifications:

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry.
• Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in the State of Florida.
• DEA registration with the ability to prescribe controlled substances.
• A minimum of 1–2 years of psychiatric practice experience is preferred.
• Experience working with diverse and underserved populations is strongly preferred.
• Culturally competent and affirming of LGBTQ+, BIPOC, and HIV-positive individuals.
• Strong interpersonal skills, clinical judgment, and a teamwork mindset.
• Familiarity with trauma-informed care and integrated health models is a plus.

Preferred Skills:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Experience with LGBTQ+ mental health, HIV care, or substance use treatment
• Proficiency in EHR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks, Athena)
