Schedule:

Monday-Friday

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and monitor children to ensure that they play and interact with one another in a safe and appropriate manner
  • Ensure that children are safe and that their everyday needs are being met, including but not limited to, diapering, dressing, grooming, feeding, etc.
  • Prepare and organize mealtimes and snacks for children
  • Help children keep good hygiene
  • Change diapers of infants and toddlers
  • Facilitate nap times, when appropriate
  • Organize activities and develop age-appropriate curriculum that allows children to learn about the world and explore their interests
  • Develop schedules and routines to ensure that children have enough physical activity, rest, and playtime
  • Ensure children are kept active, entertained, and engaged in development activities
  • Assist children in learning to work together through a variety of interactive games and activities designed to encourage cooperation as well as assist in successfully resolving conflicts as they arise
  • Model and encourage good social skills e.g., strong communication and conflict resolution
  • Watch for signs of emotional or developmental problems in children and bring potential problems to the attention of parents and guardians
  • Responsible for leading children in the cleanup of eating and play areas throughout the day
  • Provide a nurturing environment to foster children’s healthy development
  • Responsible for keeping records of children's progress, routines, interests and presence in the facility
  • Responsible for cleaning interactive areas throughout the workday
  • Maintain contact with children's parents/caregivers to report progress, issues, or emergencies

Skills/ Special Requirements:

  • Must possess current California driver’s license or Identification Card.
  • Must possess or obtain CPR and First Aid Certifications in allotted timeframe.
  • Must have sensitivity to and ability to embrace individuals of different genders, age, sexual orientation, ethnicity, religion, physical abilities and those with diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, staff, and parents/guardians.
  • Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
  • Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
  • Ability to anticipate and address potential interactions or issues between children
  • TB test to be conducted yearly or be verified by a physician
  • 1 year of verified sobriety if applicable

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person
