Fred Finch Specialized Wraparound is a family-centered, community-based program that offers highly individualized mental health and behavioral services for youth and families referred by the San Diego Regional Center. These support services can include intensive care coordination with the family's extended team of providers, safety planning and crisis management, ongoing clinical assessments, direct behavioral and mental health treatment and intervention, and opportunities for psychotherapy and psychiatric and medication monitoring.

We are currently seeking: Behavior Counselor

What You Will Do
The Behavior Counselor works within the Wraparound philosophy to support behavior strategies and provide direct support behavioral intervention and rehab services to participants and caregivers referred to the Wraparound program. Behavior Counselor will work with participants and caregivers in their residence or community; document services; collaborate with other social services, educational or mental health professionals; and actively participate in supervision. The Behavior Counselor is active in supporting and implementing Wraparound philosophy and its individualized, strengths-based, culturally responsive, family-centered approach to behavioral, evidence-based intervention.

Shifts Available
M-F, 9am-6pm

Salary Range
In accordance with California law, the expected salary range for this position is between $22.55 and $36.73 per hour. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.

What You Bring to The Table (requirements):

  • A. Degree or five (5) years’ experience in a mental health related field.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the developmental milestones of children, youth, or young
  • Demonstrated ability to assess, triage and organize work.
  • Theoretical understanding or experience in behavioral approaches to treatment.
  • Experience with or knowledge of designing, supervising, monitoring, changing, and discontinuing individualized behavioral interventions.
  • Demonstrated cultural responsiveness in working with diverse families and
  • Clean driving record: current CA Driver’s License or ability to obtain within 10 days after
  • Basic computer and keyboarding competence with the ability to use Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Coaching, Training, and/or Applied Behavioral Analysis experience.
  • Fluency in prevailing language(s) of the community.
  • Experience with individuals with mental health diagnoses and/or developmental disabilities.
