Position Description: The Intake Coordinator will work closely with the Shelter Operations Team and Recovery Programs at Lighthouse Mission Ministry (LMM), focusing on residents entering services. The Coordinator will be responsible for the screening and intake process, intake case management, maintaining accurate records in the database, and helping to create an atmosphere of hospitality. The ideal candidate will desire a challenging, fast-paced, rewarding, and service-oriented work environment.

Responsibilities:
- Assist current residents and new applicants in completing intake paperwork, reviewing information provided, and conducting screening for the Recovery Programs.
- Enter guest records accurately into the database and follow up about missing information as needed.
- Represent LMM to outside agencies through professional communication and attendance at county and city meetings when applicable.
- Conduct background screening on potential residents to ensure program compatibility within established guidelines.
- Provide and facilitate an environment that relationally shares with residents the full range of resources available to assist them, particularly further LMM programming, in overcoming the conditions that cause homelessness.
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation on each applicant and throughout the screening process.
- Assist Program Directors in the intake and orientation process for each individual entering services. This may include in-person interviews, initial drug screens, control of security access software, and daily operational activities.
- Participate in prayer and Christian Devotionals in a group setting
- Maintain a positive, pleasant, and professional attitude. Work with other staff to model transparent and supportive Christian relationships, serving as a leadership example for residents.
- Oversee, encourage, and train volunteers and interns as needed.
- Participate in regular team and community meetings as needed.
- Provide case management to the recovery program's Intake and Phase 1 residents.
- Maintain a current understanding of LMM programs and operations. This may require attendance at other programming events.
- Act as a liaison with outside agencies to ensure a successful transition into services when appropriate.
- Embrace and use LMM's grace-based accountability philosophy.

Organizational Relationships:
- Works alongside a team of Men’s Recovery Services staff, Agape Home staff, Shelter Operations staff, volunteers, and interns.
- Represents LMM to other social service agencies.
- Works in conjunction with the program administrator regarding resident data collection and quality.
- Reports directly to the Director of Men’s Recovery Services.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of one year of experience in social services, working with individuals experiencing homelessness, and/or in the rescue mission environment preferred.
- A passion for serving Jesus and making the Gospel known through mercy ministry. The successful candidate will have an active church/prayer life and agree with the Lighthouse Mission’s Statement of Faith and Personal Covenant.
- Knowledge of and preferably experience with issues of homelessness, poverty, addiction, domestic violence, and recovery.
- Strong in Administrative skills and organization Able to use judgment to make independent decisions.
- Sensitivity to cultural diversity in all forms is required.
- Ability to successfully pass pre-employment drug and criminal background screenings.
- High boundary setting and self-reflection skills.
- Basic motivational interviewing skills preferred.
- Ability to establish and maintain rapport with program residents and volunteers.
- Ability to remain calm and calm others in an emergency and/or confrontational situations.
- Ability to interact effectively as a team member and independently with LMM staff and with a diverse client base. Practical interpersonal communication skills-both written and oral

- Ability to use MS Word, Excel, Gmail, and Google Calendar.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions:
- Ability to report as regularly scheduled to the work-site and remain awake and alert during the shift
- Standing 45%; walking 25%; sitting 50%; ability to walk up and down stairs

- Possible exposure to a variety of illnesses
- Both inside and outside activities, regardless of the weather
- Ability to rapidly deal with emergencies in an intermittently high-stress environment
