Position Specific Description
The employee in this role will serve as a local project representative to communities located in northern West Virginia, western Maryland, southwest Pennsylvania, and northern Virginia where a major transmission project is being developed. This individual will be responsible for coordinating with local community and stakeholder groups and individuals to serve as a local point of contact to share project information and respond to project inquiries. Experience working to support the development of large-scale energy or infrastructure projects is preferred.

Employees in this role develop and execute plans for new and enhanced generation projects. This job is responsible for resource allocation, schedules, cost and technical adequacy, ensuring the project or transaction is completed in the most cost effective and competitive manner. This position manages all aspects of the business deal and ensures the project is completed timely and within budgetary constraints.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For The Following
- Coordinate local community engagement and outreach to inform local communities about the project, as well as respond to e-mail, phone and in-person inquiries for additional information
- Develop strong relationships with local governments and leaders, community organizations and individuals
- Guide local philanthropy efforts by recommending and then supporting the implementation of approved community-based programs, partnerships and initiatives
- Act as liaison between external stakeholders/individuals and internal team
- Manage local consultants and coordination of meetings and in-person engagements and maintains the administrative record of community touchpoints
- Support the development of fact sheets, brochures, website content and other materials to address inquiries
- Provide regular updates regarding community engagement and initiative efforts to internal stakeholders
- Ensure that external engagement is done in accordance with company values
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
- 3-5+ years of community relations or other relevant experience
- Deep understanding of the communities and culture in West Virginia, western Maryland, southwestern Pennsylvania, and northwest Virginia
- Ability to work remotely from northern West Virginia, western Maryland, or southwestern Pennsylvania
- Willing to travel daily throughout the week to participate in meetings and attend community related events along the potential project route options in the region
- Ability to share technical and project related information in an accessible way to the public
- Existing strong relationships with business and/or political leaders in the region on which other relationships can be quickly built
- Experience representing energy or large infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with electric transmission projects or experience working for a major electric utility

- Manages all aspects of the day to day transaction process to ensure timely completion as well as a cost effective and competitive result
- Leads and coordinates key functions such as financial feasibility analyses, engineering/design, project legal review, permitting activities and financial negotiations
- Coordinates due diligence activities with other internal groups to ensure proper analysis and structuring of assigned projects
- Acts as liaison between internal and external specialists regarding procurement, contracting, permitting and interconnection
- Constructs contractual arrangements for project development
- Negotiates agreements with consultants and subcontractors
- Ensures compliance with applicable technical and regulatory requirements
- Fosters external relationships with customers, third parties and members of the community
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned
