An exciting opportunity is available for a Victim Advocate with the Washtenaw Child Advocacy Center. This is a part-time, .70 FTE, (approximately 26.25 hours per week), temporary position. This position is guaranteed for one year, with potential for continuation pending future funding
Position provides direct services to children and families seen at the WCAC. The Victim Advocate will provide crisis assessment, safety planning, and support for children and their non- offending family members at all stages of involvement with the child advocacy center.
Requirements include bachelor's degree in human services or related field, plus two years' experience working with abused/ neglected children and their families. Other requirements include but are not limited to, A working knowledge of the dynamics of child maltreatment, trauma, and child development, knowledge of the criminal justice system, Children's Protective Services and the courts, and the ability to engage children 17 and under and their families from diverse ethnic, racial, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Additional duties may include assisting in the scheduling and coordination of forensic interviews.
