About Job
As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you’ll engage with your patients both individually, and in groups. You’ll work with a collaborative treatment team consisting of our Medical Director, Psychiatrist, Health Care Administrator, Counselors and Nurses to identify and meet the clinical needs of the patient and to assist in their overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct groups in substance abuse, life skills, and general health topics.
- Participate in the development and implementation of opioid awareness, intervention, and prevention programs.
- Assist in treatment planning by gathering and documenting pertinent information regarding patient sobriety and substance use history.
- Coordinate with the Health Care Administrator to establish short and long-term treatment goals for patients.
- Collaborate with Medical/Mental Health to identify and utilize resources that address patients' treatment needs.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.
Perform other related duties as assigned
Education/Licensure/Certification: Qualified candidates must have a CDCA I in the state of OH and a minimum of a High School Diploma.
Experience Required: Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant I (CDCA I) in the state of Ohio.
- Commitment to advancing to Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant II (CDCA II)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in a residential treatment setting.
- Familiarity with medication-assisted treatment protocols.
- Knowledge of community resources for substance use disorder treatment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
