Part Time Before or After School Instructor/Counselor

Position Summary:

The part-time Before or After School Instructor/Counselor provides direct supervision of a group of children at an Elementary School site. Provides a quality experience to children and their families in accordance with Department of Early Education and Care regulations as well as Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest, policies, and practices. Discovery Club focuses on ensuring that students have an opportunity to create, learn, and belong. Core components to the afternoon include: a healthy snack, structured program time featuring physical activity, academic enrichment and homework support, and unstructured time. physical activity, an enrichment activity, and time for homework to be completed or assistance with. Depending on qualifications within EEC guidelines and experience, pay ranges from $16 - $21 per hour.

Essential Functions:

· Greet children upon their arrival and departure.

· Supervise children during all indoor and outdoor activities.

· Prepare and implement daily program options.

· Observe, document, record information & behavior for assigned children as needed.

· Prepare children’s adjustment reports & progress reports for assigned children.

· Keep parents informed of their child’s progress through updates, notices, and reminders.

· Maintain an orderly, attractive, and sanitary site location.

· Attend monthly staff meetings.

· Participate in EEC/BGCA mandated training.

· Must pass a CORE Background Check.

Qualifications:

· Minimum requirement is 16 years old and actively enrolled in high school. Additional positions available for those who are 18 years old, or older, and have experience working with youth.

Schedule:

We offer a flexible part-time schedule with options for morning and/or afternoon shifts, available two to five days per week based on your availability. The program is open Monday through Friday, 7 AM to 9 AM and 2:30 PM to 6 PM.

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
