About Job

Progress Speech & Language Center (PSL) is looking for an experienced *Therapy Service Coordinator* who will take care of client intake, data entry into medical records system, track and maintain client authorizations, scheduling, as well as assisting with a variety of other tasks and must be comfortable working in a team environment.

The ideal candidate should possess a positive attitude, detail oriented, consistent attendance, and good customer experience skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Retrieve referrals from funding source and enter data to create client profile or update re-authorizations into Central Reach, our EMR.
  • Verify/Re-verify benefits & eligibility for all clients and forward referrals to scheduler to establish availability once entered into Central Reach EMR.
  • Process referral requests to insurance for reauthorization by collecting and submitting reports 30 days prior to authorization expiring.
  • Scheduling therapy services in Central Reach EMR
  • Track, report, follow up and communicate in regards to client reports with leads, manager, and therapists appropriately.
  • Ensure timely report submission to avoid lapse in client services.
  • Cover and fill in for other funding sources when other authorization coordinator is out for the day or on vacation.
  • Provide translation (if applicable) for consults or evaluations when needed or upon request.
  • Preform cleaning duties for high-touched areas.
  • Covering front desk responsibilities, answering phones, and other clerical duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Administrative experience in an office setting; previous release of information/ filing and scanning medical records
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven customer service experience and/or training
  • Ability to effectively use computer software and technology as required including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of handling medical information
  • Proficiency in: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, PowerPoint.
  • Internet Savvy
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualification, but not required:

  • Bilingual – English/Spanish
  • Previous Authorization / Scheduling Experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Teams
  • Experience in Central Reach EMR in pediatric therapy setting

Job Type: Full-time
