Job Overview – LMSW Clinical Supervisor (Transitional Housing):

Compensation: $64,000 – $68,000/year

Location: New York, NY

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM


Our client is seeking an LMSW Clinical Supervisor in New York, NY to support a transitional housing program focused on housing stability and trauma-informed care. This role is ideal for a licensed social worker with strong leadership abilities, crisis intervention experience, and a background in Housing First and Harm Reduction. You’ll supervise case managers, lead service planning, and ensure client-centered support for individuals experiencing homelessness.


Responsibilities as the LMSW Clinical Supervisor:

  • Staff Supervision: Provide regular supervision, guidance, and clinical support to Case Managers.
  • Clinical Leadership: Implement Housing First, Harm Reduction, CPI, and trauma-informed care approaches in service delivery.
  • Service Planning & Documentation: Oversee client service plans, ensuring thorough documentation of progress and engagement.
  • Program Coordination: Partner with outreach teams and service providers to support housing stability and prevent returns to homelessness.
  • Client Support & Crisis Management: Conduct assessments, lead case conferences, and assist staff with client engagement and de-escalation.


Qualifications for the LMSW Clinical Supervisor:

  • Licensure: NYS Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.
  • Experience: 3+ years working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, or similar populations, with prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams), with experience in Access-based databases or similar systems preferred.
  • Skills & Attributes: Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to support frontline staff, collaborate across teams, and serve diverse populations with empathy and clarity in a fast-paced setting.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of clinical service models including Housing First, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and trauma-informed care.
