Position Summary/ Department Summary:
Office location is in Jamaica Plain, MA office however travel is involved to patients homes in the surrounding Boston local areas.
Schedule: full day Tuesday (8 hours), Wednesday (either 4 or 8 hours), Thursday (either 4 or 8 hours) to total 20 hours a week
Early Intervention Program
You will be going into homes of families, working with ages from birth to 3 years old.
Key Responsibilities:
The Music Therapist will
Education: Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy
Experience: 1 year work experience in a medical setting and/or working with children. The ability to adhere to AMTA standards of practice, code of ethics and professional competencies.
Demonstrated proficient knowledge in music therapy clinical practice, musical skills, child development and the impact of healthcare on neurodevelopmental outcomes.
Licensure/ Certifications: Certification or the eligibility to sit for certification exam within 18 months of hire are preferred

Key Responsibilities:
The Music Therapist will
- Provide music therapy to support the developmental, rehabilitative, psychological, socioemotional, and psychoeducational needs of BCH patients and families from various demographic and multicultural backgrounds.
- Working in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to assess, evaluate, and document the therapeutic needs of patients to address the medical, procedural, surgical, diagnostic, and prognostic experiences of patients and families.
- Providing basic guidance and instruction on student/intern performance and interactions with patients and families.
