Job Description
TThe Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) is responsible for providing comprehensive mental health and/or substance abuse services within a multidisciplinary team. This role involves working with individuals who are receiving behavioral health services in one or more of the following Programs: Residential, Outpatient, and Inpatient mental health and/or substance abuse and dependence treatment settings to assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans that address behavioral health needs. The LMHP will also provide individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and support for clients and their families, fostering a therapeutic environment that promotes recovery and well-being.
The expertise of the LMHP will contribute to creating a safe and therapeutic environment that fosters mental and emotional well-being. In addition, LMHP's may serve as a preceptor to student interns and staff, ensuring that therapeutic programming is effectively implemented.
Key responsibilities include completing biopsychosocial assessments and developing individualized treatment plans, with each plan evidencing final review through a dated signature. You will also debrief patients and staff following any safety events or Code Atlas incidents, ensuring clear communication with the treatment team regarding major incidents such as elopements, therapeutic holds, injuries, or seclusions.
Additionally, licensed professionals who have completed supervision hours and are registered with the board may be called upon to provide clinical supervision to residents and social work supervisees.
Other duties may be assigned or requested, and job specifications can be modified or updated as needed. Your contributions are essential to the well-being of our clients and the effectiveness of our treatment programs.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate clients' mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans in collaboration with clients and the treatment team.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Facilitate psychoeducational workshops and support groups to enhance client coping strategies and resilience.
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective interventions.
  • Conduct crisis interventions as needed and ensure appropriate referrals to higher levels of care when required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, social workers, and case managers, to provide holistic care.
  • Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education to stay current with best practices in mental health care.
  • Uphold ethical standards and ensure confidentiality in all client interactions.
Other Functions:

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
  • Required Education: Master's Degree in Human Services: Counseling, Education, Social Work, Psychology, or another related field.
  • Required Certifications and Licensures:
    • BLS within 30 days of hire
    • Current licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent. For positions within our Addiction Treatment Services, required qualification may include Licensed Substance Abuse Practitioners (LSAP.)
  • Current CPI (Crisis Prevention Management) certification within thirty (30) days of being hired into this role.
Required Experience:
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a behavioral health setting, with direct experience in mental health and / or substance abuse treatment.
Preferred Experience:
  • Certification in a specialized area (e.g., trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, cognitive-behavioral therapy).
  • Previous experience in residential and inpatient settings is a plus.
