YAI has an opening for a full-time Social Worker within our Manhattan Headquarters, NY site. The position at YAI provides the opportunity to gain exposure and experience working within the Manhattan Crisis Intervention Team and other professionals at YAI. YAI is a network of agencies offering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a comprehensive range of services across all ages. YAI empowers people with disabilities to reach their goals every day. Our enthusiastic staff of over 4,000 professionals believes that everyone has a fundamental right to live, love, work, and learn. Key responsibilities include providing in person intake/home visits to assess service needs and provide needed services, treating people supported with disabilities related to areas identified in intake such as case management, behavior management, and crisis counseling in the home, facilitating Parent Support Groups in person, participating in interdisciplinary care planning for people supported and their families, participating in utilization/quality assurance reviews, providing outreach presentations on YAI Crisis Intervention and other related programs within and outside of the agency, and performing responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department. Education and experience required include MSW with willingness to eventually obtain LMSW license, experience with IDD population preferred, and Spanish bilingual fluency preferred. Additional skills include initiative, exceptional interpersonal, problem solving and communication skills, flexibility, proficiency in Electronic Health Record, excellent writing and organizational skills.
