The Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) is a Christian non-profit organization that has been serving the less fortunate in Southern California through emergency and long-term rehabilitation services since 1972. RMA partners with local churches to meet the spiritual needs of the people we serve. The Lighthouse for Women & Children provides a complete continuum of care specifically tailored to the needs of homeless women and women with children by offering shelter, intervention, substance abuse recovery, case management, education, life skills development, vocational training, employment, and transitional housing.
Summary
The Case Manager is a source of support and guidance to the guests of the Lighthouse for Women and Children which provide the necessary tools to accomplish increased self-sufficiency and support to maintain a sober lifestyle. This is a full-time, non-exempt regular position located in Oxnard, California, reporting to the Program Manager. Compensation is commensurate with skills and experience. This position is eligible for overtime and includes benefits.

Work Environment
This position will function to a large degree in an office environment. As a part of normal duties this position will also be in facilities with an at-risk population where errant behavior and disease risk may be present. Appropriate safety considerations will be required to avoid illness or injury.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain contact with assigned clients a minimum of one hour each week that is appropriate to their particular status and needs.
- Act as a hub for all information about the clients maintained in your caseload.
- Provide referrals for clients and inquirers, and serve as a liaison between clients and other organizations as appropriate.
- Coordinate client's education and employment with the Program Manager and Counselor regarding Case Management expectations.
- Attend weekly case management meetings and other specified meetings/trainings as required.
- Maintain accurate client documentation and other pertinent paperwork/reports.
- Assist clients to achieve goals as outlined in their individual programs.
- Accurately complete job assignments, agency forms, and written documents within assigned deadlines.
- Provide services in accordance to the Lighthouse Programs.
- Attend any overarching case management session with outside agencies when needed.
- Responsible for adhering to all policy and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook and other departmental procedure manuals.
- Communicate with Program Manager, Counselor, and Operations Coordinator about transportation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Lead Case Manager, Program Manager and Director.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related field required; or equivalent life experience
- 2-4 years or more of experience in urban and/or homeless related ministries/positions.
- Must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be active in a local Christian church.
- Must have compatible theology with RMA core values and Statement of Faith.
- Must be committed to serving God and the body of Christ.
- Valid California driver's license and insurable under RMA's plan.
- Must be able to effectively multi-task, be a team player, have good communication skills and have strong listening skills.
- Excellent people skills; with proven ability to encourage and motivate others. To love, encourage and guide clients.
- Counseling based on Biblical truths and practical tools.
- Knowledge and experience with resources (programs, agencies, etc) to help the homeless and hurting.
- Must have a teachable spirit and be committed to team participation. Must be effective in working with staff within the facility.
- Genuine burden to have people come to Christ and to have their needs alleviated.
- Must be an initiator who can work under deadlines.
- Must be proficient in Windows, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- This position requires extended times of work in an office environment in meetings and working at a desk and computer.
- In cooperation with other ministry activities, lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required, as well as physical activity associated with ministry events such as setting up tables and chairs, loading and unloading event supplies.
- Basic office equipment, such as computers, copiers, and printers.
- Vans and light trucks.
