YAI has an opening for a Social Worker in the Hankering For More Socialization Program. Some requirements necessary include being open minded, creative and forward thinking, loving nurturing social connections and working directly with people, having a high level of insight and emotional intelligence, and having experience in the ID/DD field. YAI is a network of agencies offering people with intellectual and developmental disabilities a comprehensive range of services across all ages. YAI empowers people with disabilities to reach their goals every day. The Social Worker will develop social skills curriculum with innovative and evidence-based practice, co-facilitate integrated community outings, facilitate weekly social skills groups, provide supervision for student interns studying social work or mental health counseling, contribute clinical insight and support during team meetings, maintain quality assurance documents including detailed case notes and records on goal progress in compliance with Medicaid Waiver regulations, support group members in developing community connections and social capital, communicate and collaborate with members' circles of support, maintain YAI annual staffing requirements in compliance with OPWDD regulations and standards, provide clinical insight and training to the larger team, facilitate clinically focused specialty groups, work with Manhattan Self Advocacy leadership in developing an annual schedule of meetings, coordinate and establish quarterly YAI Self Advocacy Summits, support self-advocacy presence and engagement at inter agency committees and initiatives, and respond to agency requests for self-advocates to participate in special events. Minimum qualifications include a Master's degree in psychology, social work or related field as specified in OPWDD regulations, and at least 1 year of experience facilitating groups within the ID/DD field. Additional skills include holding or eligibility for a SIFI credential, excellent problem-solving skills, strong leadership qualities, intrinsic motivation, strong organization and communication skills, exceptional clinical skills, openness to feedback, and commitment to compliance and quality assurance activities affiliated with YAI Network and OPWDD funding sources.
