Position:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for implementing behavior intervention plans for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. Working under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT provides direct, individualized ABA therapy in a pediatric outpatient setting, supporting the development of social, communication, and daily living skills.
This role requires creativity, adaptability, and an understanding of childhood development, in addition to strong communication skills and a patient-centered approach to support children in achieving their goals. The position will be based at our clinic in Northglenn.
Primary Responsibility:
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) is responsible for implementing personalized and family focused behavior intervention plans for children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders. Working under the direct supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT provides direct, individualized ABA therapy in a pediatric outpatient setting, supporting the development of social, communication, and daily living skills.
Duties:
Provide one-on-one ABA therapy using evidence-based techniques (e.g., Discrete Trial Training, Natural Environment Teaching). Follow individualized treatment plans developed by the BCBA.
Implement strategies to reduce challenging behaviors in accordance with each client’s Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). Apply proactive and reactive procedures, including safe physical prompting as trained.
Accurately record session data and skill acquisition progress. Complete timely and professional session notes and documentation.
Communicate regularly with BCBAs, other therapists, and families to ensure consistency and progress. Participate in team meetings and case reviews.
Prepare therapy materials and maintain a clean, organized therapy space. Sanitize surfaces, toys, and tools in accordance with health and safety protocols.
Professional Development and Certification: Participate in ongoing training, supervision, and performance evaluations. Maintain active RBT certification and current CPR/First Aid credentials.
Requirements:
· Active RBT certification in good standing with the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) strongly preferred. We will provide training if applicant does not have.
· High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, or related field preferred.
· Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities is strongly preferred.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to remain calm, compassionate, and flexible under pressure.
· A family-centered and holistic approach to intervention and strong collaborative skills are required.
· Strong attention to detail, especially with data collection and treatment fidelity.
· Must pass background check
Environmental/Physical Requirements:
· Frequently move from standing to sitting on the floor and vice versa.
· Engage in physically active play and movement, including walking, bending, kneeling, or lifting up to 50 pounds.
· Provide physical support or guidance to clients as needed.
· Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations, to children in distress or during physical challenges.
· Work in a dynamic, child-focused clinic environment that may involve exposure to high noise levels, sudden behaviors, or sensory stimuli.
· Must remain alert and responsive to ensure child safety at all times.
· Wear appropriate PPE as needed based on health and safety guidelines.
· Potential exposure to common food allergens, including but not limited to peanuts, tree nuts, dairy, eggs, soy, wheat, fish, and shellfish, within the clinic and homes as children may bring snacks or consume formula or breast milk.
· Employees must follow strict hand hygiene and infection control protocols
· Contact with various therapy materials (e.g., play dough, foam, latex, cleaning products) that may trigger allergic reactions.
