- collaborate effectively as a member of the District's school psychology team;
- conduct parent-staff conferences to interpret findings and give recommendations from evaluations;
- provide professional advice and consultation to students, parents, staff and faculty on all matters related to psychological educational needs and services in the schools;
- research and study the field of child growth and development in order to recognize the academic, social and emotional needs of children;
- provide direct, short-term solution focused counseling services for students; and
- performs other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual, Spanish/English, preferred but not required;
- psychological educational testing, assessment technique, and practices;

- federal, state, and district rules and regulations as they apply to school psychological services and the implementation of the IDEA; and
- leadership practices and techniques.

- Ed.S. or Ph.D. degree in school psychology or related field.
- Valid Minnesota License in School Psychology or eligibility

- Develop and provide direct social, emotional, and behavior instruction.
- Conduct formative assessment, and monitor progress, to guide instructional planning.
- Conduct social, emotional, and behavioral assessments as part of triannual special education evaluations.
- Consult with general and special education staff.
- Maintain student records of services provided.
- Participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings.
- Perform other related duties, as assigned.
- Must have current Minnesota EBD, Autism or ABS teaching license.
- Experience in developing and providing direct social, emotional and behavioral instruction.
- Experience implementing strategies for improving social skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds weight (and/or up to adult-size body weight with two-to-three person lift).
- Experience with standardized assessment tools.
- Knowledge of Special Education Due Process procedures.
- Ability to effectively collaborate.
- Ability to communicate with parent/guardian and team members.
