Job Title: Community Engagement Specialist
CSL Staffing is hiring for a great temp-to-hire opportunity for a Community Engagement Specialist for a growing behavioral and mental health healthcare company. The Community Support Outreach Specialist builds strong relationships with community organizations, local leaders, and individuals experiencing homelessness. This role focuses on helping people find and keep permanent housing through support, referrals, and personalized planning.
Position: Community Engagement Specialist
Location: Sacramento, CA 95815
Pay Rate: $25-$26 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM || Temp to Hire
Bilingual in Spanish required
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth assessments of individuals and families to understand their housing, financial, health, and employment needs.
- Help clients develop and follow personalized housing plans to overcome barriers and achieve stable housing.
- Provide one-on-one case management that is culturally sensitive and tailored to each person’s needs.
- Support clients with life skills, job readiness, and budgeting to help them become self-sufficient.
- Keep detailed records, track progress, and provide weekly and monthly updates to supervisors.
- Act as a liaison between tenants and landlords to resolve issues and prevent evictions.
- Conduct home visits after housing placement to ensure continued stability and support.
- Work closely with other service providers and attend team meetings to coordinate care.
- Support the delivery of the following Community Support (CS) services:
- Housing transition and sustainability
- Nursing facility-to-home transitions
- Short-term post-hospital housing
- Housing deposits and navigation
Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- At least 1 year of experience in case management, healthcare, social services, or customer service.
Skills & Abilities:
- Valid California driver’s license and car insurance required.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
- Strong communication, organization, and active listening skills.
- Comfortable using computers for documentation and communication.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Able to multitask and stay organized while managing multiple clients.
- Compassionate, patient, and able to handle emotionally difficult situations.
- Strong problem-solving skills under pressure.
Physical Requirements:
- Must use personal vehicle for outreach visits (mileage reimbursed).
- Able to sit for long periods at a desk and lift up to 15 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Morning shift
- No weekends
