The BCBA plays a critical role in providing clinical oversight and guidance in the delivery of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy services. The BCBA is responsible for conducting assessments, developing behavior intervention plans, supervising implementation of ABA treatment, and monitoring client progress. The BCBA collaborates with families, caregivers, and other professionals to ensure effective treatment outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Conduct comprehensive functional behavior assessments to identify underlying factors contributing to challenging behaviors and skill deficits.
- Analyze assessment data to understand the client's needs, strengths, and intervention areas.
- Utilize evidence-based assessment tools to inform treatment planning and decision-making.
- Treatment Planning and Implementation:
- Develop individualized treatment plans with clear behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals based on assessment findings.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to ensure proper implementation of strategies and interventions.
- Provide training and supervision to ensure fidelity and adherence to best practices.
- Ongoing Monitoring and Analysis:
- Regularly collect and analyze data to evaluate intervention effectiveness and modify plans as needed.
- Monitor client progress, track behavior change, and adjust interventions accordingly.
- Conduct re-assessments to update goals and strategies based on new information.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work with families, caregivers, and professionals for a coordinated approach.
- Guide families in implementing strategies at home and natural settings.
- Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing progress updates and discussing treatment plans.
- Supervision and Training:
- Supervise and train behavior technicians and staff.
- Conduct meetings and training sessions on ABA principles, strategies, and ethics.
- Promote a positive environment for staff development.
- Professional Development and Ethical Conduct:
- Stay updated on research and best practices in ABA.
- Adhere to BACB ethical guidelines and standards.
- Participate in professional development activities.
Pay: $15/hour for drive time
Qualifications
- Current BCBA certification from BACB and licensure in Maryland.
- Master's degree in behavior analysis, psychology, special education, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of ABA principles and interventions.
- Experience with assessments like VBMAPP, PEAK, AFLS, ABLLS-R.
- Excellent data collection and analysis skills.
- Experience with online data collection preferred.
- Effective supervision and communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and ethical guidelines.
- Must pass federal and state background checks.
- Ability to perform physical activities required for the role.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel up to 45 minutes.
- Current first aid and CPR certifications; willingness to complete background checks.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $95.00 - $110.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
