Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to join our collaborative team. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience while pursuing advancement toward becoming a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We provide opportunities for acquiring unique and high quality supervision from BCBAs that are experts in the fields of early childhood, parent support, and play based learning. For students pursuing accreditation from the BACB, you will have the opportunity to earn indirect hours by completing projects that are exciting and interesting to YOU!
Key Responsibilities
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the supervision of BCBAs
- Collect and record accurate behavioral data
- Conduct one-on-one therapy sessions with clients
- Document session notes and maintain client records
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
- Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and team members
- Provide 1:1 or small group direct intervention for young children and adolescents in a home or community setting based on developmentally appropriate, naturalistic ABA therapy
- Use positive reinforcement techniques to promote desired behaviors
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe environment for clients
- Collaborate with each client’s team of Behavior Analysts, Speech and Language Pathologists, and Occupational Therapists to provide high-quality support for your clients
- Work closely with your team to provide continuity of communication and the highest quality of care and support
- Actively engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities
- Build meaningful and professional relationships with families; communicate and share progress with them on a regular basis
- Receive ongoing feedback, coaching and professional development from your BCBA to improve and grow your practice and skills
Required Qualifications
- Current RBT certification through the BACB (must provide your certificate of completion for your 40 hour RBT training)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- Clean background check
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical ability to implement behavior intervention techniques

You will be responsible for providing play-based instruction, teaching developmentally appropriate skills, and taking a holistic approach to supporting children and their families. Your role will involve actively engaging with toddlers through elementary-aged students in a variety of settings, fostering a nurturing and supportive environment where every child can thrive. Ideal candidates will have experience working with neurodivergent children, including children with Autism and ADHD, and possess a deep understanding of child development. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing essential support to neurodivergent children by focusing on communication, play, and social skills development. Your work will be instrumental in helping these children build the skills they need to navigate the world around them with confidence and success.

Qualifications:
Minimum education requirement: enrollment or intention of enrollment in degree programs related to Child Development, Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing, or a related field
Preferred candidates have a bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Psychology, Education, Speech & Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy, or a related field
Previous experience with children and/or adolescents, preferably in a professional setting
Lived experience with or as a part of the neurodiverse population (e.g. autism, ADHD)
Embody a playful spirit and the ability to connect and engage with young children
Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
Familiarity with medical terminology related to behavioral health
Ability to work independently and as part of a team to work toward a shared mission and vision
Clear professional communication, both verbally and in writing
Fluency in navigating devices such as computers and tablets
Have reliable transportation and the ability to arrive at the community site and/or client’s home on-time daily
Meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently and shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor, sit in a chair, stand, and walk
Availability to work at least two evenings per week (4:00 - 7:00 pm)
Additional Skills:
- Teaching through play based activities
- Experience with assisting individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Understanding of special education principles and practices
- Familiarity with care plans and individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of behavioral health interventions and strategies
