About Michigan Wellbeing
Michigan Wellbeing is a fully virtual mental health clinic offering accessible, affirming, and integrative care to individuals, couples, and families across the state. We are redefining mental healthcare by going beyond traditional therapeutic models integrating evidence-based approaches with deeper, whole-person methods rooted in psychodynamic and relational therapy, somatic practices, family systems, polyvagal theory, mindfulness, and expressive therapies.
Our mission is twofold:
- To provide high-quality mental health services that honor identity, address root causes, and support long-term holistic wellbeing.
- To train and support early-career clinicians in delivering inclusive, compassionate care, equipping them with the tools, supervision, and support needed to grow into confident, well-rounded therapists.
We specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, autism, giftedness) and LGBTQIA+ communities, while also supporting clients facing trauma, anxiety, depression, identity development, parenting challenges, executive function concerns, and more. As we grow, our vision includes expanding into wellness coaching, ADHD/executive functioning support, nutritional counseling, and holistic healing practices, creating a comprehensive ecosystem of care that promotes sustainable change and authentic flourishing.
Position Overview
We are currently seeking LLMSWs licensed in Michigan to join our growing clinical team. This role is designed for clinicians who are open to working with a wide variety of clients—including individuals, couples, families, children, and teens—and who are eager to expand their experience within a supportive, training-centered environment.
Because of the structure of our clinic and our integrative training model, we are only able to hire clinicians who are comfortable working across these populations. We assign clients to you directly based on clinical fit and availability.
What You Can Expect from This Role
Training-Focused Clinical Support
This is a supervised learning environment ideal for early-career professionals. You’ll receive weekly clinical supervision from Ashley Legel, a licensed LMSW, ongoing guidance from the clinic director, and opportunities to participate in optional trainings and group case consults throughout the year.
Administrative & Scheduling Support
We take care of all backend operations so you can focus on client care. This includes:
- Insurance credentialing
- Billing and claims submission
- Insurance verification
- Client scheduling and communication
We use Simple Practice CRM, which integrates with your personal calendar (your private details remain hidden) so that client sessions are scheduled directly based on your true availability—helping avoid conflicts and double-booking.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing virtual therapy to individuals, couples, families, teens, and children
- Completing progress notes within 24 hours of sessions
- Developing treatment plans and keeping documentation current
- Attending regular supervision and reviewing feedback from your supervisor
- Preparing for sessions and continuing to develop your clinical tools
- Participating in trainings, team meetings, and team consults when available
- Keeping up to date calendar availability so that we can book based on your availability
Caseload & Growth Expectations
As a newer clinic, we are still establishing community partnerships and expanding our referral base. You can expect to begin with a gradual caseload, typically a few new clients per month, with continued growth expected particularly in the fall. There is no pressure to carry a full caseload right away. We are committed to steady, thoughtful growth that supports both client needs and clinician development. We have also started working with ZocDoc through which we create a profile for each clinician, and through which clients can book directly with you.
The minimum caseload we expect clinicians to carry is 5 clients. We do not push clinicians to carry more clients than they are able to, and strongly support a slow growth of your caseload. Some of our clinicians who prefer a heavier caseload work at our clinic and another clinic to reach their desired caseload more quickly.
Client Population
Our clients represent a diverse range of identities, backgrounds, and presenting concerns. While many are neurodivergent or LGBTQIA+, concerns may also include trauma, relational issues, anxiety, depression, parenting, and emotional regulation. You’ll have the opportunity to work across clinical areas and developmental stages. If a client issue is beyond your training or scope of practice, we will not assign it to you.
Compensation
- LLMSWs: 50/50 split
- LMSWs: 60/40 split (60% to you)
- Clinicians are paid after insurance reimbursement or client payment is received
- All supervision, case consults, trainings, insurance services, and administrative services are included at no cost
- Insurance and self-pay usually result in range of $120-155 per session total before the split, so with your split you can generally expect a minimum of $60 per session.
Minimum Requirements
- LLMSW or LMSW (or pending license) in the state of Michigan
- Willingness to work with a broad caseload: individuals, children, teens, families, and couples
- Commitment to inclusive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming care
- Strong communication and organization skills, with timely documentation
- Openness to feedback, learning, and collaborative team culture
- Previous clinical experience preferred but not required.
To Apply
Please send the following to info@miwellbeing.org:

Once you send these over, we will respond with our pre-interview 'getting to know you' packet with some additional questions.
Diversity & Inclusion
We strongly encourage applications from BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent, and multilingual clinicians. We believe diverse lived experience strengthens clinical insight and enhances the care we provide.
