Project Architect – Healthcare 

Kahler Slater is seeking a registered Project Architect with 7+ years of experience to join our national healthcare team in delivering master planning, advisory services, acute care, ambulatory care, and pediatric environments. 
 
Our ideal Project Architect is passionate about developing and detailing complex projects aligned with the unique requirements of medical practice and patient care. As a Project Architect, you will bring an understanding of healthcare building typologies including construction techniques, sustainable methods, and building technologies.  You will work in collaboration with our design team and clients to identify project goals and key drivers and create effective design solutions. 
 
You will work across our healthcare team in alignment with our open and flexible culture that encourages individual initiative and collaboration. You will build trusting relationships within the team and across Kahler Slater.   
  
Principal Duties and Responsibilities of a Project Architect – Healthcare: 
  
Project Development 
  • Assists in leading the planning and design phases of healthcare projects, generating, and translating design concepts into final architectural solutions 
  • Support Project Leader in project management tasks, focusing on schedule, staffing, and budget 
Leadership 
  • Direct and manage the internal and external design team from initial planning through construction administration 
  • Inspire, motivate, and lead project team in client service, design approach, and project delivery 
  • Establish an environment that encourages experimentation, innovation, and design creativity 
  • Coordinate the project’s design intent with technical project requirements 
  • Represents the team with multiple healthcare clients, industry partners, contractors, consultants, and public authorities  
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities of a Project Architect – Healthcare:  
  • 7+ years of experience as an architectural professional with experience in healthcare markets 
  • Professional degree in Architecture 
  • 5+ years with architectural registration is required   
  • 7+ years of Revit production experience, and proficiency utilizing Revit and automation technologies 
  • Experience in the selection of building materials and systems  
  • Successful team-orientation and collaboration behaviors  
  • Diligence in seeking solutions to complex problems  
  • Strong communications skills, spoken, written, and graphic  
  • Focuses on collaboration and cooperation with others, demonstrating project and technical leadership 
  • Efficiently responds to client needs   
  • Ability to coach and be coachable 
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and within restrictive time deadlines and budget parameters while maintaining focus, positive attitude 
Working relationships and scope of a Project Architect – Healthcare: 
  • Report to Healthcare Team Leader 
  • Collaborate with other design and project team members  
  • Represents the firm in alignment with Kahler Slater’s core values 
  • Mentor junior staff members  
Working conditions of a Project Architect – Healthcare: 
Work is performed in a professional, collaborative, creative, open office environment. Occasional travel is expected as it relates to serving clients and professional development.
