The Wax Sculpture I Team Lead’s primary objectives are to coordinate the various processes of the Wax Department to ensure production targets are met, to ensure the Wax Team works efficiently and is inspired by and engaged with the work. This position is also responsible for the safety and smooth operation of all activities and equipment in the Wax Department while ensuring all required materials are organized, stocked and maintained. The role responsibilities will be developed in collaboration with the Manufacturing Lead I Foundry as you grow with the business. 


 Responsibilities   

  • Maintaining and building an effective, connected Wax Team to realize production goals.
  • Ensuring communication channels between your department and the business are effective. 
  • Ensuring that production targets are being met and tracked consistently. 
  • Ensuring that all consumables are stocked, and equipment is operational.
  • Working with the team to maintain and develop clean shop practices.
  • Strategizing the efficient handling of materials and information between all departments.
  • Working to discover innovative tooling, materials, and practices for the department. 
  • Documenting and ensuring the implementation of best practices across all jobs in your department. 
  • Working with the administrative teams to keep the business informed and vice versa. 
  • Attending all reporting and strategy meetings as required while meeting production targets.  

Qualities 

  • Strong work ethic and value of open communication with teammates.
  • Ability to solve complex problems in collaboration with various teams throughout the foundry.
  • Ability to understand and coordinate all processes of the Wax Department. 
  • Ability to switch quickly and continuously across different projects while maintaining momentum.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a team.
  • Minimum of 5 years managing projects in art production.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams) 
  • A commitment to the art of sculpture creation!

  • Working with the Manufacturing Manager I Foundry to realize goals set in collaboration. 
  • Maintaining a smooth workflow intake and output with adjacent departments.
  • Ensuring a positive, transparent connection between the Wax team and the business with developed career trajectories. 

Performance Indicators 

  • The Wax team operates safely without incident and maintains a positive work environment. 
  • Production goals set by the Manufacturing Manager I Foundry are being met. 
  • The Wax team continuously trains and mentors new and alternate members. 
  • The Wax process is continually improving and evolving to meet market demands. 
  • The Wax Department improves the workflow of the production line as a whole.

Salary Description - $36.47/hr - $43.41/hr
