The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France  to the DMV area. We have expanded to eight retail locations, a production bakery, and a thriving wholesale business. We serve coffee shops, restaurants, hotels, and grocery stores with fresh products every day, 365 days a year.

Our obsession with quality is part of the passion here at Fresh Baguette.  Take, for example, the process of making our signature baguettes: a cold-dough process that produces unique flavors, homemade “levain”, and made using state-of-the-art equipment imported from France. The end result is a baguette that is authentic with moisture and just the right crunch. In addition, it takes two days, 11 steps, carefully selected ingredients, and the skill of a pastry chef to make our soft and flaky, mouthwateringly tender croissant.  


Our master baker leaves nothing to chance and uses the best French techniques in everything we create for our guests. 


About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Baker to join our Baking department at our Fresh Baguette Germantown production center (19548 Amaranth Drive Germantown, MD 20874). This full-time, hourly position is perfect for someone ready to dive into the world of professional baking. As a Baker, you will play a key role in preparing delicious bread and baked goods while maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity for a fast learner and team player who is punctual, reliable, and eager to grow in a collaborative environment.

This is an entry-level position. You will receive proper training from our professional bakers who know the ins and outs of handcrafting high-quality artisanal organic breads.


What You'll Do

  • Work in a team environment to follow recipes and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain tools and personal hygiene to ensure food safety and quality standards.
  • Prepare flour and other baking ingredients, either manually or with the assistance of commercial bakery equipment.
  • Shape dough to bake a variety of bread and other baked goods.
  • Operate commercial bakery equipment, including ovens, loaders, proofers, and dough mixers.
  • Work efficiently and quickly to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety guidelines and hygiene practices during all operations.

Pay: $17.15 / hour - $18.00 / hour

Hours
For this position, you must have open scheduling availability to work any day of the week

  • 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
  • 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM
  • 5 days a week including Saturday and Sunday

Qualifications

  • No prior professional experience required.
  • A fast learner with a positive attitude and a proven ability to adapt.
  • Team-oriented mindset and ability to collaborate with others effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and reliability in executing tasks accurately.
  • Ability to follow procedures and adhere to detailed instructions without deviation.
  • Capability to comply with food safety guidelines consistently.
  • Punctual, dependable, and committed to maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Physical endurance to meet demands of fast-paced and labor-intensive role

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Open availability to work a variety of shifts, including weekends, mornings, and afternoons
  • Availability to work on Holidays - Thanksgiving, Christmas, Fourth of July, etc.
  • Ability to perform heavy work such as lifting 50lbs+ and standing for 8hours+
  • Reliable transportation to work
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Reading, writing, speaking, listening comprehension proficiency in English
