About Job

Job Summary

A dedicated and compassionate Adult Behavioral Health SUD Therapist is needed to provide integrated mental health and substance use disorder services to adolescents and adults. This full-time position offers a $3,000 sign-on bonus and additional incentive pay opportunities each pay period. Therapists are expected to conduct comprehensive intake assessments, deliver person-centered treatment based on medical necessity, and manage a caseload in accordance with clinical and documentation standards. The role includes flexible scheduling, evening shifts, and some weekend coverage based on program needs. Pay is based on licensure level and experience, and a full benefits package is provided, including PTO, holidays, and mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake assessments for new clients with substance use and/or mental health diagnoses
  • Maintain clinical documentation and case records in accordance with policies and timelines
  • Provide individual, group, and/or family therapy as clinically appropriate
  • Complete treatment plans and authorization requests with various funding sources
  • Maintain a consistent and collaborative therapeutic relationship with clients
  • Track clinical progress and adapt treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with internal and external providers to support client treatment goals
  • Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing training sessions
  • Provide culturally competent care and demonstrate flexibility with diverse populations
  • Use personal vehicle for occasional travel (mileage reimbursed at IRS rate)

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or CounselingRequired
  • Corresponding Michigan licensure: LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP – Required
  • Candidates without current state licensure must obtain it within 60 days of hire
  • Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) credential within 120 days of hire
  • Must possess a CAADC credential or be on an approved MCBAP development plan within 6 weeks of hire
  • U.S. work authorization required; no visa sponsorships or student/work visas accepted
  • Comfortable working evening hours and Saturdays as determined by program needs

Certifications

  • State of Michigan License: LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, or LLP – Required
  • CAADC Credential or MCBAP Development Plan – Required
  • Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) – Must be obtained within 120 days

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year experience (including internship or fieldwork) treating individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders – Required
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills – Required
  • Ability to work independently with strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills
  • Cultural competency and comfort working with diverse populations
  • Ability to engage and maintain therapeutic relationships across various treatment modes
  • Willingness to be flexible and work collaboratively with clinical teams
