Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct one-on-one benefits counseling for programs including SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, and Medicare.
- Develop personalized benefits plans aligned with individual goals.
- Educate individuals on Social Security work incentives (TWP, EPE, IRWE, PASS, EID).
- Guide participants on how employment affects public benefits and healthcare coverage.
- Collaborate with DORS counselors, vocational rehabilitation teams, and external agencies.
- Maintain accurate, confidential documentation and prepare planning reports.
- Connect individuals to community-based resources and support systems.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Certification as a Community Work Incentives Coordinator (CWIC) or completion of the Benefits and Work Incentives Planning certification (Cornell University).
- Completion of Maryland-specific benefits and systems training.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals with disabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation.
Demonstrated Competencies:
- Strong understanding of Social Security work incentives and benefits impact.
- Ability to complete benefits analyses and explain outcomes clearly.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to participant empowerment and person-centered planning.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
- Office-based with occasional off-site meetings.
- Ability to lift and transport materials up to 20 pounds.
- Use of standard office equipment including PC, printer, copier, etc.
- Must be able to hear, speak, and see with or without assistance.

Salary: $24.00 - $31.25 an hour
This position is based on site in Belcamp/Aberdeen Maryland (Monday through Friday).
