Board Certified Behavioral Analyst

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis, Education, Psychology, or Related Field
  • Pass the BCBA certification exam administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
  • Supervised Fieldwork at least 2,000 hours
  • Active state-level licensure and/or certification OR ability to obtain.
  • Experience working in schools or with children is preferred but not required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs): Conduct assessments to identify the function of problem behaviors and develop appropriate interventions.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze data on student behavior to monitor progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Creating IEP Goals: Collaborate with teachers and special education staff to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that include behavioral goals.
  • Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs): Develop and implement BIPs based on assessment data, outlining strategies to address challenging behaviors.
  • Professional Development: Provide training and workshops for teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff on behavior management techniques and the implementation of BIPs.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Offer ongoing support and coaching to staff as they implement behavioral strategies in the classroom.
  • Individual Support: Work directly with students to implement behavioral interventions and teach new skills.
  • Social Skills Training: Facilitate social skills groups to help students develop appropriate social interactions and peer relationships.
  • Behavioral Crisis Intervention: Develop and implement crisis intervention plans for students exhibiting severe problem behaviors and provide support during crisis situations.
