Job Description:

• Assess students for school-related psychological issues using standardized tests, write detailed reports, and make recommendations for treatment plans and/or services based on assessment results.
• Present findings of assessments to IEP Team and families in IEP meetings.
• Screen students for potential psychological issues related to their ability to function in their educational environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and families to create 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids with developmental, learning, or behavioral delays
• Counsel students and parents if applicable and referring them to further resources when needed
• Provide mental health services to students as needed
• Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and program
• Work with at-risk youth who are in need of educational intervention to help them achieve success
• Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student psychological, health, and academic records

Qualifications:

• Active school psychology license in the state of California
• Experience working as a school interventionist or psychologist
• Firm understanding of child and school psychology
• Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist
• Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
• Ability to maintain and organize confidential records
• Understanding and commitment to following all related laws and standards
• Organizational, scheduling and planning skills to manage complex schedule, and the schedule of many students
