Job Description:
- Assess students for school-related psychological issues using standardized tests, write detailed reports, and make recommendations for treatment plans and/or services based on assessment results.
- Present findings of assessments to IEP Team and families in IEP meetings.
- Screen students for potential psychological issues related to their ability to function in their educational environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and families to create 504 plans and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success for kids with developmental, learning, or behavioral delays
- Counsel students and parents if applicable and referring them to further resources when needed
- Provide mental health services to students as needed
- Collaborate with the special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and program
- Work with at-risk youth who are in need of educational intervention to help them achieve success
- Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student psychological, health, and academic records
Qualifications:
- Active school psychology license in the state of California
- Experience working as a school interventionist or psychologist
- Firm understanding of child and school psychology
- Commitment to continuing education as a school psychologist
- Excellent communication skills with both children and adults
- Ability to maintain and organize confidential records
- Understanding and commitment to following all related laws and standards
- Organizational, scheduling and planning skills to manage complex schedule, and the schedule of many students
