. We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Resident Care Coordinator to oversee the administration of medications and ensure the highest standards of care for our residents. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical documentation and be familiar with regulatory compliance, including HIPAA standards. This role is essential in providing safe medication management within our assisted living/adult living facility
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and facility policies.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct regular assessments of residents' vital signs and health status to ensure optimal care.
- Educate staff and residents on medication management and proper administration techniques, including tube feeding when necessary.
- Ensure that all medication storage and handling practices meet safety standards.
- Provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met effectively.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in medication management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within assisted living, nursing homes, or home care environments.
- Strong knowledge of medical documentation practices and familiarity with electronic health record systems such as Epic.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to assess vital signs accurately and respond appropriately to changes in residents' conditions.
- Experience with tube feeding procedures is a plus.
- Compassionate approach towards working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with residents, families, and healthcare teams.
- Relevant certifications or licenses as required by state regulations for medication administration.
