ATTIC Correctional Services is aprivate, non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation that offers a wide variety of community corrections programs spanning over 50 community areas throughout Wisconsin and Minnesota, serving more than 10,000 clients each year.Our programs provide a cost-effective approach to criminal justice via simultaneously reducing recidivism rates and increasing the labor productivity our clients reinvest into their communities. Our community-based approach places a strong emphasis on restorative justice, with public safety remaining at the core of everything we do.

This full-time position in our Community Service Program provides case management services to adult criminal defendants of Dane County. Referrals to ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc. are made by the Dane County Courts. The candidate in this position has extensive responsibility for communicating with the Dane County Court Judges and Clerks to assist the clients in reaching the successful completion of objectives listed in the court order. The Community Service Coordinator will be responsible for approving and allocating funds for client bus tickets and work supplies based on assessed client financial and work assignment needs. This staff will regularly coordinate directly with court personnel. This position is also responsible for developing the community work sites and planning projects with the community work site partners.
  • Screening, intake, and orientation of participants.
  • Referral of participants to eligible community service work sites and facilitation of participant connection to community partners.
  • Frequent communication with the Dane County Court Branches
  • Ability to accurately complete documents submitted to the court.
  • File maintenance and tracking of program records.
  • Case management services: documentation of participant progress, report writing, case plan development, implementation of program procedures, and related duties.
  • Communicating and coordinating with community partners for community service work sites and scheduling.


Qualifications

Education and Work Experience
  • Associate degree in criminal justice, human services, or related field. Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • One year experience working with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Correctional case management preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform duties and make decisions with limited supervision.
  • Ability to make excellent judgment calls in emergencies.
  • Must be detail-oriented, accurate, and thorough.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to interact with employees, clients, and agents effectively while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all client and agency information.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, email, and internet.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle; this position will require some local driving.
