Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addiction Counselor to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of addiction and mental health issues, providing support and guidance to individuals struggling with substance use disorders. This role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and facilitating counseling sessions to promote recovery and improve overall well-being.
Duties
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine the severity of addiction and co-occurring mental health issues.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide ongoing mental health counseling and support to patients in both individual and group settings.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Educate patients and their families about addiction, recovery processes, and available resources.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams within hospital settings to coordinate comprehensive care for patients.
- Engage in data collection and analysis to improve treatment effectiveness and program development.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification as an Addiction Counselor or equivalent licensure is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology related to addiction and behavioral health.
- Experience in patient care, mental health counseling, child family counseling, or similar fields is beneficial.
- Familiarity with coding practices for insurance purposes is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment while demonstrating empathy and professionalism.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
