What You'll Do:
Our CD Counselor make a difference in the lives of our patients by providing quality care to individuals with substance abuse or chemical dependency problems. Our dedicated professionals work tirelessly to create an environment that fosters healing, growth, and long-term wellness. Incumbent responsibilities may include:
•Assess patients' stage and extent of chemical use
•Conducts didactic and other appropriate patient groups
•Guide patients in meeting treatment goals
•Develops and implements a plan of treatment, in conjunction with members of multi-disciplinary team

Aurora Charter Oak Hospital has been delivering Behavioral Health Treatment Services for over 83 years. We are located on 10 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Covina, California. Covina is about 22 miles east of downtown Los Angeles, in the San Gabriel Valley, close to 10, 60 and 210 FWY.

Requirements
Education & Experience:
•Certification by a recognized California DHCS required (such as CADC, SUDCC, CATC)
•Knowledge of substance abuse dynamics, problem, treatment modalities
•Working knowledge of psychological and physical symptomatology associated with chemical dependency
•Communication, individual and group therapy skills
•Skills in therapeutic support and confrontation with chemical dependency patients
•Skills in treatment planning, related documentation
•Current BLS for healthcare provider card required upon hire
•Therapeutic Options™ (TOT) to be obtained prior to providing direct patient care without a preceptor
