About Job

Ellington Public Schools has an anticipated opening for a full-time District-Wide Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) starting for the 2020-2021 school year. This collaborative behavioral leadership position will provide alignment across the district with direct support for students, teachers, parents and administrators at the elementary school level. The BCBA will work closely with administration, faculty, staff, and families to provide services which may include; functional behavior assessments, development of behavior intervention plans, staff and parent training, and development of appropriate curricula for individual student support.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or Doctoral Degree level professional with background in special education or psychology/counseling
  • Experience in a school setting with behavioral analysis
  • Extensive training in behavior management and development of behavior analytic interventions
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with a broad group of stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and build positive relationships with students, teachers, families and administrators

Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate creation of equitable opportunities across the three elementary schools
  • Provide in class support for students with specific social/emotional needs Tier 1-3
  • Provide in class support for teachers to identify triggers and implement strategies
  • Increase teacher knowledge in providing social/emotional understanding and strategies
  • Provide district training to teachers, paraprofessionals, parents and administrators in the area of SEL
  • Collaborate with Families, Administration School Psychologists, Counselor, and Classroom Teachers
  • Create, implement and evaluate student plans
  • Availability and visible and known to staff
  • Effective collaborator and communicator
  • Student focused in supporting teachers
  • Experience in a school setting
  • Provides practical data collection tools and strategies for teachers to use with students
  • Implements a process to ensure teachers are provided timely feedback and support
  • Provides professional development to teachers, administrators and parents
  • Work with administrators to develop systems and implement protocols to support all students and school staff
  • Empower and increase teacher capacity to support student social emotional learning
  • Focus on creating proactive approaches to build sustainable school wide behavior intervention models
