Are you the Residential Counselor we have been looking for? In this position, you will be able to convey your passion for helping others with a dynamic team by bringing an energetic and positive approach while working with our youth!

Centerpoint is a 15 bed Intensive Residential Treatment Program (IRTP) for emotionally disturbed adolescent males. The primary mission of Centerpoint is the treatment and rehabilitation of adolescent males with mental illness and challenging behaviors. Centerpoint provides a secure, clinically intensive residential program that enhances growth and coping skills. The program’s ultimate goal is to enable each resident to attain optimal psychological and social growth; to transition to a less restrictive setting and eventually into the greater community.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with adolescents in an energetic, positive, and disciplined manner, while maintaining excellent boundaries and excelling in a fast-paced setting. As a Residential Counselor, you will take pride in collaborating with a team dedicated to enhancing the daily lives of a group of adolescents, all while ensuring the safety and well-being of both residents and staff.

Salary: $21.00/hr

Schedule: This position is full-time, 40 hours per week with a schedule of 4 days a week. The schedule options are either of the following;

Option 1

Sunday 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Tuesday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Wednesday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Friday 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Option 2

Tuesday 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

Wednesday 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM

Friday 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM

Saturday 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM

Due to the nature of our work and the youth who are depending on us, there are times where overtime may be mandated.

YOU will be able to create a safe and therapeutic community by supporting students in developing and by role modeling effective coping strategies.
YOU will help students discover what makes them feel competent and valued by working with them to develop life skills such as cooking, banking, vocational skills, and more. Your day-to-day work will support students in developing a sense of self and provide them the skills to be successful in their next steps.

Requirements:

Must be 21 years of age.
Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred; High School Diploma required.
Residential program or mental health program experience preferred.
Experience working with specialized populations of adolescents preferred.
Able to work independently while under the guidance of a supervisor.
Available to work evenings, holidays, weekend shifts as required.
Maintains valid driver’s license as transporting residents is required.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
Background and driving record checks will be performed.
