Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Counselor to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting students’ emotional, social, and academic development. The School Counselor will work closely with students, parents, and staff to create a nurturing environment that promotes positive growth and well-being. This position requires a strong understanding of behavior management strategies and experience working with children in various capacities.
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Develop and implement behavior management plans tailored to individual student requirements.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and special education staff to support students with diverse needs.
- Conduct assessments to identify student challenges and recommend appropriate interventions.
- Organize workshops and seminars on topics such as conflict resolution, stress management, and study skills.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school administration regarding student progress.
- Participate in the development of school-wide programs that promote a positive school culture.
- Serve as a resource for teachers regarding classroom management techniques and strategies.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings (e.g., camp counselor, babysitting).
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques to support students effectively.
- Familiarity with special education practices is preferred.
- Experience in sports coaching or theater can be beneficial for engaging students creatively.
- Background in Christian counseling is a plus for fostering a supportive environment aligned with our values.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with students, parents, and faculty members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while addressing sensitive issues faced by students.
