Job Summary: The school based Board Certified Behavior Analyst coach provides guidance, support, and professional development to special education teams in the district. This role involves providing ongoing coaching, mentoring, and collaborating with school staff to develop high-quality functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans for students with IEPs. The coach will serve as a resource for special education teachers and support staff to promote best practices and ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations. The coach will work closely with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to enhance the academic, social-emotional and behavioral needs of all students and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Instructional Leadership:- Actively support staff and Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) in the implementation of district core comprehensive programs.
- Facilitate the alignment and reflection of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices within behavior intervention plans and supports.
- Support the FBA process and the development and implementation of behavior intervention plans.
- Model effective strategies and facilitate peer observation and feedback opportunities.
- Stay current on research and best practices in instruction and share knowledge with colleagues.
- Support curricular reviews to evaluate the quality of instructional resources.
- Analyze and interpret data to assist in the development and implementation of data-driven action plans to improve student achievement
- Support with additional projects and responsibilities aligned with district goals.
- Child Study Team (CST) Support:
- Provide guidance and support on special education policies, procedures, legal requirements and changes related to the IEP process.
- Provide assistance regarding highly involved students, student evaluation, behavior plans, and the Response to Intervention (RtI) process.
- Provide support in the development, implementation and data monitoring of behavior intervention plans.
- Provide support in the interpretation and application of assessment results and ongoing progress monitoring for all students.
- Support planning for Extended School Year (ESY) and provide staff development training for teachers.
- Support staff training on special education programs and resources.
- Professional Development:
- Plan, organize, and facilitate research based professional development opportunities for teachers to ensure student success.
- Provide individualized coaching and mentoring to support the growth and development of teachers.
- Collaborate with district and building administration to align professional development with district-wide goals.
- Utilize feedback to ensure that professional development is meaningful and responsive to the needs of staff
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate with administration to align support with district and building needs.
- Communicate effectively with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with all teaching and learning departments to improve academic and whole child success.
- Participate in Individual Education Plan meetings as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by building or district administration
Minimum Requirements:
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with LBSI Endorsement or Master degree or higher in behavioral science related studies
- BCBA License
- Demonstrated successful experience as a BCBA
- Demonstrated leadership experience in school based and or district level initiatives
- Knowledge of current special education laws and regulations (e.g., IDEA, Section 504).
- Extensive knowledge in best practices for supporting student social emotional/ behavioral development
- Expertise in data collection, FBA and BIP development

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
