Pay: $20-$28/hr
Reports to: Assistant Program Director
Purpose of the position: Provide direct and support services to female or male clients suffering from mental illness or a co-occurring disorder. This position will be responsible for the supervision of the clients at all times, ensuring their participation in treatment-related services, as well as assisting in insight building and motivation for treatment, activities of daily living, and attending community support and recreational activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must be able to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours
- Must be 18 years of age
- Ability to read and interpret written information; write clearly and informatively; edit work for spelling and grammar; speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listen and get clarification; respond well to questions; demonstrate group presentation skills; and participate in meetings
- Ability to sit at a desk to work, as well as move from location to location effectively
- Ability to clearly communicate with clients and staff through verbal and written communications
- Ability to type, handwrite, use computers, and answer phones daily
Primary Accountabilities of the position:
- Supervision of clients to ensure a safe and comfortable setting
- Being on the floor monitoring clients' whereabouts, well-being, and safety at all times
- Monitoring resistance from clients and communicating with the clinical team to create an action plan; assisting the clinical team in executing the action plan when requested
- Ensuring client participation and engagement in treatment/programming
- Available as support if a client is having a crisis or breakdown, and alerting appropriate staff when needed
- Updates to the clinical team regarding client status
- Monitoring unusual and risky behavior, and alerting appropriate staff when needed
- Chart audits to ensure all clients are accounted for in the notes, and alerting appropriate staff when there are errors
- Light cleaning around the house when needed, and doing rounds of the home to ensure its cleanliness
- Laundry when needed and monitoring dirty bedding, towels, etc. to ensure it's getting done
- Monitoring supplies and communicating supplies needed
- Shift change report to ensure proper coordination of care and that any relevant and important information is being passed along to staff on the following shift
- Clinical meeting to discuss/review client updates, status, etc., and assisting the clinical team in treatment planning when requested
- Client assignment audits to ensure client participation in their individual counseling/mentoring work, and developing action plans with clients struggling to complete their assignments
- Participation in any training offered by BBH to increase clinical skills and effectiveness
- Ensuring clients are on time for groups and that they are participating in treatment
