CPL UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a General Adult Consultant, NHS based in Dartford, Kent area.

The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in General Adult Psychiatry to work full-time and it would be excellent for someone wanting to broaden their experience of community psychiatry and develop their clinical skills in a supportive and challenging environment. The team is well established with good support from senior clinical and managerial colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

• This is a 10 PA per working week post within the Dartford CMHT, covering the local area, providing senior medical input to the Community Mental Health Service. The post holder will be based in Dartford and is expected to be involved in providing cover for initial assessments, regular follow ups (Care Reviews) and CPA Reviews.
• The post holder will also be expected to carry out home visits locally.
• The post holder will be expected to take an active leadership role in screening of referrals as well as assessment of new referrals within the CAPA choice model assessment process.
• The post holder will also provide medical advice and supervision to the Community Mental Health Team looking after patients who have severe and enduring mental illness with more complex needs who are managed at enhanced level of CPA and their care is managed and coordinated by the team.
• The post holder will build constructive relationships with the team manager and with other senior professionals.
• Patients from Dartford area requiring inpatient treatment are admitted to the local inpatient services in the area. Inpatient services are managed and coordinated by the Acute Service Line with dedicated inpatient consultants to every ward. The post holder will have no inpatient Consultant responsibility for any of their patients; they will be managed by Acute inpatient consultants during their stay in hospital.
• There is a Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team with separate Consultant cover which offers a 24hr, seven days a week service, which provides a treatment option for patients who are at risk of hospitalization.
• The post holder will work according to the principles highlighted in the New Ways of Working and as per New Ways of working may hold a small caseload of standard care patients who only require medical input prior to transfer to primary care (maximum number of 20).
