Salary: $67,032 - $134,596 per year* (2024/25 SVEA Salary Schedule).*2025/26 TBD. Salary range based on 1.0 FTE.
**Required: Valid Washington State ESA Certificate with appropriate endorsement is required.
The High School Career Counselor supports students in exploring career interests, setting postsecondary goals, and preparing for life after graduation. This role involves providing one-on-one guidance, implementing and planning for the high school and beyond plan, and delivering career-focused workshops and classroom presentations. The counselor works closely with students to develop individualized career plans through SchooLinks, connect them with internship, job shadowing, and apprenticeship opportunities, and assist with resume writing, interview preparation, and college or vocational applications. The Career Counselor collaborates with school staff, families, and community partners to ensure every student has equitable access to information, resources, and experiences that promote career readiness and informed decision-making.   • Insurance: This position is eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance provided the assignment is anticipated to work at least 630 hours per year.*
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
  • Paid Time Off: Certificated employees receive 12 sick days and 2 discretionary personal leave days each school year. Sick leave and discretionary personal leave days are based on scheduled hours and position start date.

Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
