Community Support Specialist

Compensation: $50,000 - $65,000 annually (based on experience).

Key Responsibilities:
Onboarding:
  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources and Director of Housing to onboard new employees. 
  • Ensures new site employees are equipped with all necessary tools and supplies to perform the essential functions of their positions.
  • Acts as a liaison between regional/area managers and employees, ensuring onboarding checkpoints are met and evaluations are completed in a timely manner.
 
Training:
  • Assists in the training of new employees on company software and procedures.
  • Assists site employees with basic operational questions or directs them to other staff (Director of Facilities, Housing Director, Compliance Team, etc.).
  • Works with employees to ensure timely completion of all applicable training.
  • Helps with the administration of RealPage, including the LMS, under the supervision of the Director of Housing.
  • Trains staff to manage resident functions in such a manner as to maintain the respect and goodwill of all residents.
  • Works to facilitate and promote safety training, emergency procedures protocols and a “safety first” culture.

Site Operations:
  • Assists in new property acquisitions and lease-ups.
  • Assists regional/area managers in new office set up.
  • Makes site visits to assist employees with special projects and operational needs as needed.
  • Conducts occasional routine site inspections including files and office operations.
  • Assists site staff ensuring that all customer complaints are handled promptly and appropriately.
  • Ensures consistent, respectful and professional communications to residents as required.
  • Effectively, respectfully, and professionally partners with all staff at all times.

Core Competencies:
  • Must be willing to contribute to harmonious and professional workplace environment, in which all individuals are treated with respect, supporting and upholding our zero-tolerance policy for harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other prohibited conduct while concurrently acting with integrity in all situations.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, conflict resolution and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be computer proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and Outlook (Office 365) and have the ability to effectively navigate the Internet.
  • Must be experienced in OneSite property management software. 
  • Knowledge of financial operations and budgeting required.
  • Ability to manage a flexible schedule and remain available for property emergencies.
  • Must possess valid driver's license and NYS vehicle insurance.
  • Required use of personal cell phone.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and commits to promoting company mission, values and culture.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Three (3) years’ experience Affordable Housing Management experience required.
  • Certified Occupancy Specialist (COS) preferred.
  • C3P Tax Credit and LIHTC certification preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience of RealPage OneSite experience required.
