About Job

Description

Leidos is seeking dedicated licensed behavioral health professionals to join our Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Child and Youth Behavioral team. This position is focused on supporting military children and their families as they navigate the unique challenges of military life.

This role will specifically serve at Chloe Clark Elementary School and follows a 9-month school calendar.

As a Child and Youth Behavioral Military and Family Life Counselor (CYB-MFLC), you will play a crucial role in providing non-medical support, including counseling and outreach, to eligible staff, parents, children, and youth. Your work will focus on preventative counseling that addresses issues before they escalate, making a significant difference in the lives of military youth.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Engaging with military youth and teens in school settings.
  • Observing and participating in activities, providing coaching and guidance to staff and parents.
  • Offering presentations that promote social skills and emotional learning for youth development.
  • Attending installation and community events to build rapport with families.
  • Assisting families with transitional adjustments due to relocations.
  • Participating in ongoing training and other assigned activities.
  • Reporting trends and issues to team leads for improved community support.

Benefits of the CYB-MFLC Position:

  • Adhere to a non-medical counseling model, eliminating insurance filings and treatment plans.
  • Receive an iPad for streamlined digital reporting, ensuring confidentiality.
  • Enjoy paid federal holidays and comprehensive behavioral healthcare training.
  • Get reimbursed for job-related license renewal fees.
  • Access a 401K retirement plan.
  • Benefit from centralized support within a Counseling Center of Excellence.

Additional Duties May Include:

  • Responding to emergent situations at various military installation locations.
  • Traversing diverse physical environments both indoors and outdoors.
  • Complying with site-specific requirements when working in military settings.

Work Environment:

The role will include work in multiple indoor environments (approximately 60%) such as schools governed by state and Department of Defense standards, alongside outdoor settings (approximately 40%) that may involve uneven terrain and exposure to various weather conditions.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A master's degree or higher in Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • A valid independent license in the mental health field from any U.S. state or territory (e.g., Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist).
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Ability to pass a basic background check and obtain NACI/CNACI clearance.

Pay Range: $55,250.00 - $99,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this position is a guideline and may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.
