Job Title: Substance Use Disorder Counselor

Hours Per Week: 40
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30AM - 5:00PM
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000
SUMMARY:
Join our dedicated team as a Substance Use Disorder Counselor, where you will play a key role in providing vital assessments and effective treatment to individuals facing chemical dependency. You will conduct individual and group counseling sessions, develop treatment plans, and work collaboratively within a clinical team, all under the supervision of our staff psychiatrist.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide comprehensive Substance Use Disorder treatment through individual and group counseling.
- Timely complete progress summaries and maintain accurate patient documentation.
- Conduct quality audits of patient records to ensure compliance.
- Evaluate client needs through initial and ongoing assessments for diagnosis and care level.
- Engage clients through individual, family, and group counseling tailored to their needs.
- Create culturally sensitive and individualized treatment plans.
- Collaborate with other care providers and referral sources for holistic client support.
- Participate in professional development to enhance client care practices.
- Ensure medical records are completed according to regulatory standards and timelines.
- Meet productivity targets by implementing effective client engagement techniques.
- Contribute as a proactive team member to coordinate and enhance patient care.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a clinical internship in chemical dependency or a minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.
- CASAC certification, or CASAC-T with a commitment to obtain full certification within 24 months, or OASAS QHP (LCSW, LMSW, LMHC, LCAT, LMFT, or permit holder).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degrees in Human Services or related fields (Associates, Bachelors, or Master's).
EDUCATION & LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
QHP - Qualified Health Professional (NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally; primarily involves sitting but may require brief periods of walking or standing.

$60,500.00 - $75,000.00
